Privacy at Pulse
Pulse uses data needed to run accounts, safety, social features and purchases. We do not sell personal data or use behavioral ad profiling for minors.
What Pulse processes
Account identity, declared date of birth and country, username, profile and social activity, safety reports, security logs, and Apple purchase status where needed to provide paid features.
Young people and regional safeguards
Age and declared country are used to activate stricter product safeguards. Under-18 accounts use high-privacy defaults. Pulse does not use behavioral ad profiling for minors.
United States
Pulse blocks under-13 registration in the current release instead of collecting child personal data through an unverified parental-consent flow.
EU / EEA
Pulse applies the national GDPR Article 8 digital-consent threshold where verified, never below 13. Current configured thresholds range from 13 to 16. Users under 18 remain in higher-privacy teen safeguards.
France
Pulse uses a 15+ account minimum in France. Below that threshold, this release does not offer an unverified parental-authorization path.
Australia
Pulse uses a 16+ account minimum for Australian users in the current release.
See the Child Safety policy for the full country-aware release rules.
Photos, media and uploads
Pulse only asks for photo-library access when you choose to add an image to a post, story, profile photo or profile cover. Images you select are uploaded to the Pulse service so they can be stored and displayed according to your account and content visibility settings. Pulse does not upload your photo library in the background.
Location, contacts and tracking
Pulse does not require precise background location for its core social experience. Contact-book access is not required to create an account. Optional permissions are requested at the point of use.
Control
Users can manage privacy, message requests, active status, discovery preferences, blocks, reports and notifications, and can permanently delete their account from the app. A dedicated Privacy Choices Center explains where each control lives and how to request access, correction, export or deletion.
